If your child has not been to a camp recently, you will have received an email from us with your child’s Code Camp World username and a prompt to reset the password.
Make sure you note these down for your child as they will need them for the duration of the program.
Log in to Code Camp World
Open up a Google Chrome browser on your laptop or desktop computer (sorry, tablets and iPads won’t work just yet!).
Enter your child’s Code Camp World account credentials
Find your child’s Challenge
On the left hand side, click on the Learn Tab
Then click on the Challenge tile under the Your Challenges section. It will have a name related to the program you have enrolled your child into (i.e Spark, Ignite, Blast etc). It will look similar to the example below:
Once the Challenge tile has been clicked, you will see the videos your child has been assigned. These are released in order, depending on what program you have enrolled into. Simply click on the first session to get started.
Click play on the video tutorial. Your child can pause and rewind the video tutorial as many times as they need to.
Access to Live Tutor Support
The green Create Project button above the video tutorial must be clickedto create the project for your challenge. This enables access to our Live Tutor Support Team.
Recommended Screen Setup
There are 2 different setups we recommend for your child’s session.
Option 1: Code Camp World on a second screen
If you have a second device, such as a phone, tablet or computer follow the instructions below:
Using a second device, follow the above process again upon that device.
Use your first device to complete the coding activity and the second device to watch the video.
Option 2: Google Chrome Picture in Picture
Don't have a spare device to use as a second screen? No worries! Follow the instructions below to download a Google Chrome extension:
Click the blue ‘Add to Chrome’ button on the top right.
Click the ‘Add extension’ on the pop up.
You’ll now see the Picture-in-Picture icon to the right of your address bar in the top right corner of your browser.
Open the Code Camp World video tutorial and click the Picture-in-Picture icon to enable the feature.
You’ll be able to move the window pop-out around the screen and resize to your liking too. From there, you’ll also be able to pause and play if/ when necessary.
Here is a video of how the Picture in Picture extension works
